There is a famed Wood Pecker point in Pangot - a well known birding destination in the Himalayas. I had ventured into the woods in the early hours hoping to get some shots of various woodpeckers; however, could not see a single one. Instead found this Black throated Tit plucking berries from a tree nearby the point.

Info:
The black-throated bushtit is a small passerine, around 10.5 cm long and weighing 4-9 gms. There is considerable variation in the plumage, but all subspecies have a medium length tail (as opposed to the long tail of the related long-tailed tit), a black throat and a black 'bandit mask' around the eye. The black throated tit has a chestnut cap, breast band and flanks and dark grey back, wings and tail, and a white belly. The other subspecies have generally the same pattern (minus the chest band) but with grey caps or all grey bellies and flanks. Both sexes are alike. The black throated tit is a resident of the Himalayas stretching across northern India through north-eastern Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, northern Myanmar, Vietnam, and Taiwan. The black-throated bushtit is highly social and will travel in large flocks of up to 40 birds. It lives in open broadleaf forest as well as pine forest, generally occurring in middle altitudes.

HI Satirtha, just a pity for the blurred small branch close to the bird eye,but it was impossible to make different....the DOF is perfect to have the best details of the bushtit despite the very difficult location, well done! Have a nice weekend and thanks,LUCIANO

I have seen and occasionally tried to capture the Great Tit of the Himalayan region, but this one is a new species for me, and much more attractive, Satirtha.
A very impressive point of view in good natural light that shows the features and colours of this bird extremely well.
This is the very first on TN and all of us must thank you for sharing it.

Hello Satirtha, thank you for sharing this new bird here on TN.
A lovely little Black-throated Tit presented in fine detail and rich yet natural colors. Wonderful eye contact and perfectly exposed. I really like its cinnamon colored cap. Well done!!
