Rusty cheeked Scimitar Babbler
|[Note Guidelines] הערת הצלם|
|This is another new species which was saw in Pangot. The rusty cheeked Scimitar babbler came pretty late in the evening to drink water near the water hole where I had shot most of the bird pics in Pangot. First it perched itself on a log but the pic came out dark with noise. Thereafter, it landed on the ground where I could manage a decent image due to better lighting condition. I couldn't manage to capture any other image from another POV to show the details of the bird as it flew away as soon as I got this shot.|
Rusty cheeked Scimitar Babbler is a resident of the Himalayas - mainly in western & central Himalayas. It has Rufous forehead, ear coverts & sides of breasts. The eastern Himalayan Scimitar has greyer streaks. Found in scrubs & undergrowth.
Thanks for viewing.

Excellent low level POV. Details and very good as well as exposure. Beautiful species, I haven't captured it yet. Good work.
Thanks for sharing,

What a neat looking bird you have presented to us and a new one for me. It has such a long curved bill, somewhat like that of a sunbird. Like you eluded to, we always want a better POV, but sometimes you have to get what is available. I like this very low POV which still gives us a great view of its unique features and lovely colors.
Though I'm from Himachal, I haven't seen this bird there, Satirtha. Maybe it's native to Uttarakhand region.
Excellent capture from almost full dorsal point of view that gives a perfect impression of its plumage. The mellow evening light is just perfect.
Ciao Satirtha, great capture of lovely bird in nice pose, fine details, wonderful natural colors and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
Thanks for visiting my gallery. This is a very interesting bird with nice colors.
Despite the late evening the photo is excellent. Amazing details of the feathers.
