Palomena prasina (L.) Insecta, Heteroptera, Pentatomidae. Green bug of wood
Description. The adult measures 12 to 14 mm, its tegument green, smooth, is marked many small black spots in hollow, the margin of the pronotum is yellow-reddish. The antennas consist of 5 articles, 2nd and 3rd have the same length, 4th and 5th are reddish. The eggs green, are laid grouped. The larvae are green (here on the picture, its a larvae stage 3). The openings of odoriferous glands (odor of bug) laterally open with the ventral face metathorax close to the base of the posterior legs.
Biology - Very common, polyphagous, one finds it in particular on Pommier and Pear tree, when the orchards are located near woodlands, like on wild and cultivated herbaceous plants. - the embryonic evolution lasts 15 to 21 days, the larval growth passes by 5 stages and lasts 5 to 6 weeks.
Cycle life. The imagoes winter and take in autumn a darker colouring, even brown, they take again their activity in April. They feed then are coupled. The layings are deposited on the sheets of the plant-hosts. Only one annual generation.

Bonjour Didier, j'aime bien ta srie d'insectes en vol, c'est diffrent et trs bien fait. Celle-ci est superbe avec un bon focus, un trs bon background et beaucoup de mouvements. Bravo et merci !

A mind-blowing capture of this green bug in flight, Didier. I am much impressed with that blurred wing movement while the subject stays in sharp focus.
Well done and best regards.

bonjour didier
encore une reussite, votre exposition doit etre tres interressante mais helas vous n'abitez pas la porte a cot.
un leger bruit dans le BG mais pas bien grave vu la difficult de la prise.

Hello Didier. I am absolutely blown away by most of your photos. You are a master in flying insects. I think that it would be fair if I catch the same insect sitting still, then we force him to fly and then you make your photo. Now it would be more or less fair to compare our photos :). Ok better not as I still may lose :)

Hello Didier,
Wow, you have very talanted skills of capturing in flight.
Your photos are all amazing to me. :-)
Excellent details and sharpness, lovely colours and nice POV, well composed too.
TFS and best wishes,
Kevin

Hi Didier,
Outstanding inflight shot. Very difficult but amazingly handled. I like the motion blur on the wings. The lighting and BG are great and highlight the bug perfectly. Excellent POV and very nicely composed. Kudos.
