[Note Guidelines]
The picture shows the largest European species of the Heteroptera family Acanthosomatidae
- Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale.
I observed this bug on the same sunny winter day as I met the peacock butterfly which I posted some days ago to TN. Like Nymphalis io, also Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale hibernates in the imaginal stage. So, similar to the peacocks, brimstones and commy butterflies seen at this day, this specimen was obviously waken up by the power of the sun and the high air temperatures.

- natural bright sunlight
- ISO 400
- handheld

Hello Peter!
Another interesting insect from your collection, but this this the Eurpean bug ;)
I have to say that it is not very popular insect group among photographers so thanks for showing this one. And this is interesting because very often these species are really beautiful - like this one. Maybe it is beacause of their "self-defence"? ;)
The picture is good and very colourful. I like also the DOF and sharpness. Note is very informative as always.
The only things I would like to delete are the reflection on insect's eye and antennae :)
Anyway, nice and interesting presentation.
Best greetings,
Radomir

Hallo Peter,

Peter

Hello Peter,
Nice shot of this stinky bug :-) Good colours. There are some spots overexposed but overall it's a nice contribution.
