|This is one of the famous black swans found on the Swan River near Perth, in Western Australia. Previously all swans known to Europeans were white, and the discovery that there could be black swans has resulted in the concept of a black swan being used to demonstrate logical fallacies and, more recently, as an example of very rare financial events, now commonly referred to as "Black Swan Events" - like the financial crash of 2008.|
* The black swan is the state emblem of Western Australia, and appears on the state flag.
* When in flight, a group of black swans is known as a ‘wedge’, whereas on the ground it is known as a ‘bank’.
* The black swan’s scientific name means ‘a swan attired in black’, and refers to this large waterbird’s sooty-black plumage.
* The black swan is known to make a variety of high-pitched, musical baying, bugling and trumpeting calls.

A real beauty not often seen here on TN. You did a great job on exposure considering the lighting appears very harsh. How neat are those blood red eyes which match it's beautiful bill. Maybe a bit tight in the frame, but still an attractive shot.
Ciao Alan, great capture of fantastic black swan, fine details, wonderful natural colors and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
